For Personnel — Running a Patrol
1. Pick up the Steel Pen.
2. At each checkpoint, touch the tip of the Steel Pen firmly to the Button. The Pen will beep and flash to confirm the scan.
3. Continue through all checkpoints on the patrol route.
4. The Steel Pen stores up to 11,000 hits — there is no need to download after every tour. Return the Pen for download whenever reporting is needed.
Note: If the Pen does not beep or flash, make sure the tip is touching the center metal disc — not the plastic bracket around it.
For Supervisors — Downloading Data
5. Plug the DLS into the computer and confirm it is recognized (DLS icon visible, no X).
6. Insert the Steel Pen into the DLS.
7. In Deggy Control, click Download → select by: DLS → click Download.
8. Remove the Pen from the DLS once complete.
9. Go to Reports → select the report type → set your date range → click Run.
