Getting Started: Steel Pen System + Online

Welcome to your Deggy NXT Steel Pen System + Online. Follow the steps below in order to complete your setup. Each step links to a detailed article with screenshots.

 

This system uses two computers:

• On-site computer — has the DLS Online transfer software installed. Stays at the patrol location and is used to download Pen data and transfer it online.
• Management computer — has Deggy Control AI installed. Can be located anywhere and is used to manage all data, reporting, and system configuration.

 

Note: Estimated setup time: 45-60 minutes

 

Step 1 — What's in the Box & System Requirements

Confirm your components and computer compatibility before installing.

Step 2 — Install Deggy Online DLS AI Software (On-Site Computer)

Download and install the transfer software on the computer connected to the DLS.

Step 3 — Install Deggy Control AI Software (Management Computer)

Download and install the management software on your management computer.

Step 4 — Register the DLS Online

Link your DLS Online serial number to Deggy Control AI.

Step 5 — Register Company & Sites

Set up your company and patrol locations in Deggy Control AI.

Step 6 — Name & Program the Steel Pen

Register your Pen and sync it via the DLS.

Step 7 — Register Checkpoint Buttons

Name and register your patrol checkpoint buttons.

Step 8 — Create Tour Schedules

Can be set up now or added later.

Step 9 — Daily Use — Downloading & Viewing Data Online

How personnel scan, how data transfers online, and how to access it.

Step 10 — The Viewer — Accessing Reports Online

View and share patrol data from any browser.

Step 11 — Reports, Distribution & Automatic Email Reports

Run reports and set up automatic email delivery.

Important: Existing Deggy Control users: if you already have Deggy Control (standard) installed on your computer, you must run a compatibility update before installing Deggy Control AI on the same machine. See Step 3 for details.
